We’re going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

Why don’t you come too, too, too. Staying with my Uncle and Aunty the last few days has been wonderful and tranquil. I have launched the membership site but yesterday Rachel and I also went to the Zoo. No, not the Australia Zoo where the Irwins live, we went to Alma Park Zoo, a lovely smaller zoo at half the price of the Australia Zoo with heritage listed gardens. It really has had a revamp with new owners over the last couple of years and to its credit has some wonderful animals there, Red Pandas, Sun Bear, Marmosets to mention a few. My uncle has moved there from Australia Zoo as one of the head keepers. His influence there has made a big difference but also the whole crew there have made such an effort to care for those animals with new enclosures going up daily. I really urge you to put Alma Park Zoo on your list when going through Brisbane, it is just North off the M1, there is a couple of caravan parks near by. One looks like a small fee park or maybe even free, it is Watson Park. We didn’t drop in to check it out but it was only about 500 metres from the Zoo. The other had a few permanents in there but looked to be upgrading with nicer areas at the rear of the park. There is also a free camp area at Petrie not that far away either, it is called Wirlie Park. Woodford Pub make good pizzas if you are looking for a feed near Kilcoy. Woodford Showgrounds offers a good place to stay, although we didn’t stay there I did notice a few vans and motorhomes in there. 2 nights max though. We are heading to the sunshine coast today to see Gary at Prestige Caravan Repairs, sorting out the list of parts he has so members can see the range. Don’t forget to sign up if you haven’t already. Those people with Geist Owners Club membership cards from the previous administration can throw them now, new cards are being printed for www.geistowners.com members and the old club has disbanded.
